In short: 21 February is International Tourist Guide Day. Around this date, licensed guides in every Austrian province offer special tours, often free of charge or for a donation.
What it is about
The day was launched by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations and shows what good guides do: they combine knowledge, language and a feel for people. In Austria the guides of each province organise their own programme.
