Few women in history have been as romanticised as Empress Elisabeth. On this walk you will meet the real person behind the movie image.
Elisabeth arrived in Vienna in 1854 as a young bride from Bavaria and married Franz Joseph in the Augustinian Church. Your guide takes you to the places where her life at court unfolded and explains why she never felt at home in the rigid world of Habsburg etiquette.
You will hear about her beauty routines, her restless travels, her love of Hungary and the tragedies that shaped her. Her violent death in Geneva in 1898 and the birth of the Sisi legend are part of the story too.
The walk ends near the former court confectioner, where sweets were made for the imperial table. On request we add the Sisi Museum or Schönbrunn Palace. The tour is private and priced per group.
