North of Krems lie the Kremstal and Kamptal, two of Austria's best-known wine regions. This bike tour takes you through gentle hills and wine villages.
From Krems you ride out into the vineyards, past loess terraces and cellar lanes. Your guide explains how loess shaped this landscape and why Grüner Veltliner and Riesling thrive here.
Your destination is Langenlois, Austria's largest wine town. Here stands the Loisium, a wine world with a striking building by architect Steven Holl that rises like a cube from the vines, with old cellar tunnels beneath it. Along the way your guide tells you about winemaking families, Heuriger taverns and the rhythm of the wine year.
Bikes or e-bikes can be rented or arranged for you on request. The route has some gentle climbs, and with e-bikes it is easy for everyone. The tour is private and priced per group.
