Salzburg is a bike-friendly city with flat paths along the Salzach. This tour combines old town views, film locations and playful Hellbrunn Palace.
From the old town embankment you ride out along the Salzach cycle path, with the fortress always in sight. Your guide explains how salt and the church made Salzburg rich and why the city only became part of Austria for good in 1816.
Along the Hellbrunner Allee, one of the oldest avenues in town, you reach Hellbrunn Palace. Prince-Archbishop Markus Sittikus built it in the early 17th century as a summer retreat with famous trick fountains. The glass gazebo from The Sound of Music stands in the park, and on the way back your guide shows you the view of Leopoldskron Palace.
Bikes or e-bikes can be rented or arranged for you on request. The route is flat and easy even for occasional cyclists. The tour is private and priced per group.
