Seefeld: Olympic Village, Wildsee Lake and the Seekirchl
A stroll on a sunny high plateau

Seefeld in Tyrol sits on a sunny plateau above Innsbruck and twice hosted Olympic Nordic skiing events. This private walk links the landmark Seekirchl chapel, the Wildsee lake and stories of faith and sport.
The little Seekirchl, with its round plan and onion dome, is one of the most photographed sights in Tyrol. It was built in the 17th century against the backdrop of the Wetterstein and Karwendel ranges.
The parish church of St. Oswald recalls the Host miracle of 1384 that made Seefeld a pilgrimage site. Later sport brought change: in 1964 and 1976 Seefeld hosted Nordic events of the Innsbruck Olympic Games.
At the Wildsee a path follows the shore through moorland and larch forest. Your guide talks about cross-country skiing, spa traditions and the Mittenwald Railway linking Seefeld with Innsbruck and Bavaria. In winter the walk works in the snow too.
