Wachau E-Bike Day: Krems to Melk

The entire World Heritage landscape in one day

Wachau E-Bike Day: Krems to MelkBikeNiederösterreich
Duration
7.0 hours
Languages
German, English

Between Krems and Melk lies the Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000. On this e-bike day you experience the whole valley with vineyards, castles and abbeys.

The tour starts in Krems and heads west on the Danube cycle path. In Dürnstein your guide tells the story of Richard the Lionheart, while in Weißenkirchen and Spitz the focus is on Riesling, Grüner Veltliner and the apricots the Wachau is famous for. Along the way you see terraced vineyards with dry-stone walls that have shaped the landscape for centuries.

From Spitz the route continues via Aggsbach to Melk, where the Benedictine abbey glows golden above the Danube. At midday there is time for a break at a Heuriger or inn.

E-bikes can be rented or arranged for you on request. The return trip is by boat in season, otherwise by train or vehicle. The tour is private and priced per group.
