Lake Wörthersee is one of the warmest Alpine lakes and lies right on Klagenfurt's doorstep. This bike tour follows canal and shore to the finest views.
From the town centre you follow the Lend Canal, which has linked Klagenfurt with the lake for centuries. Timber and goods were once shipped along it, today it is a green cycling route. Your guide tells you how the Carinthian estates turned Klagenfurt into their capital in the 16th century.
On the eastern shore you ride through the Europapark, past lidos and villas from the era of summer retreats. Depending on your stamina you continue along the southern shore to Maria Wörth, whose churches sit picturesquely on a peninsula in the lake.
Bikes or e-bikes can be rented or arranged for you on request. In season, the boat is an option for the return trip. The tour is private and priced per group.
