The Zillertal is one of Tyrol's best known valleys, with alpine pastures, mountain farms and the year-round glacier at Hintertux. This private day trip combines the historic Zillertal Railway, a show dairy and spectacular mountain scenery.
Since 1902 the Zillertal Railway has linked Jenbach and Mayrhofen. In season historic steam trains also run on the narrow-gauge line, a treat for railway fans and families.
In Mayrhofen a show dairy reveals how mountain farmers' milk becomes cheese and butter. You taste Zillertal cheese and learn why alpine dairy farming still matters so much here.
Depending on the season you continue into the Tux Valley with views of the Hintertux Glacier or hike in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park. Your guide tells of the Zillertal singers who carried Silent Night around the world in the 19th century. Tastings and tickets are paid on site.
