This private excursion takes you to Leibnitz in South Styria, where the Roman town of Flavia Solva, Seggau Castle and the region's wine culture meet. It combines archaeology, church history and winemaking into a varied half day.

Flavia Solva was the only Roman town in what is now Styria and was granted town rights under Emperor Vespasian. Its remains lie in the Leibnitz plain, and many finds can be seen in the area today.

High above Leibnitz stands Seggau Castle, for centuries the seat of the bishops of Seckau. Its Roman stone wall holds dozens of ancient grave and inscription stones, and the bishop's cellar stores wine from the surrounding vineyards. Your guide links the stops with stories of Romans, bishops and South Styria's wine tradition.

The excursion is private and planned around your group. We are happy to discuss transport, how long you would like to spend at each stop and where to take breaks before the day.
